This hotel is ideally located in the city center on Parliament Hill within walking distance of many attractions including the Plains of Abraham, Old Quebec and the Grande Alee Street. The hotel is owned by the third generation of the Girard family and although a large, modern hotel you can still feel the personal family-run touch and the classic traditions.

The hotel is eco-conscious and provides Chevre-Feille eco-friendly bath products and organic fair-trade coffee in the rooms. The Chateau Laurier is a non-smoking hotel. The hotel has 282 rooms (8 wheelchair accessible rooms), 17 meeting rooms and an inner courtyard garden. The public areas include a cozy lounge with fireplace and an electric wine bar in the lobby.

The four star hotel has an indoor salt water pool, outdoor Jacuzzis, sauna and the Institut Payot Health Center serves the hotel guests. There is a 24/7 fitness room, spa treatments, business and concierge services, free high speed Internet in all the rooms, an in-room safe deposit box, dry cleaning and laundry service, express check-in and concierge service.

There is valet service available for an additional charge and if you have a car there is safe indoor parking also at an additional fee. For those with electric vehicles there are recharging stations and electric vehicles get free parking. In the lobby guests can read free newspapers.

There are also electric wine bars (dispenser machines holding wine) on two of the floors, ice machines and soft drink vending machines on various floors. On request you can borrow an umbrella from the hotel reception and there is a convenience store on site. The rooms each have tea and coffee facilities and some rooms have one or more bathrobes.

On-site is the St-Hubert restaurant, there is also room service and breakfast which is available in-room or in the dining room.

For breakfast you can choose between a Continental or American breakfast; a cold buffet breakfast is an additional CAN$10.95 and a hot buffet breakfast is an additional CAN$14.95

There are several room types - the Ultra with one double bed; Classic with 1 queen and 1 king bed or 2 double size beds for families or couples; the Contemporary Room with sophisticated solid wood furniture, 2 queen beds or 1 king size bed and the Luxurious Room with a therapeutic bath, gas fireplace and 1 king size bed for couples.

The Business Suite is a spacious loft-style room spread over two sections, with many pampering extras and panoramic views from the windows. There is also an opulent Presidential Suite. There are adaptable rooms which are flexible enough to accommodate your special needs, for example ramps, arm supports in the bathrooms and space to move a wheelchair.

Chateau Laurier Hotel For Families

For families the hotel recommends taking a Classic or Contemporary style room with two double beds to sleep a family of four. Alternatively take two connecting rooms for a larger family. Of the hotel rooms 6 can be turned into adjoining connected rooms for larger families. Older kids will love the in-room free high speed Internet, Bluetooth, HDMI and USB hub and the video players which can be rented on request. Kids will also love the pay per view movies.

If you have bottles or other things that need cooling it is possible as there is a mini refrigerator in your hotel room. Toddlers will be safe playing on the hypoallergenic floors. At the pool families can rent personal floating devices for kids.
