One of the best budget Cuba family hotels for kids is the Arenas Blancas Hotel in Varadero. . The hotel is a bit rough around the edges but it is in a great location and has excellent value. My family stayed here-the kids were thrilled with it. The resort has a huge pool and is on a nice stretch of that beautiful Varadero beach.

This resort is located next to the town so you have lots of access to shops and restaurants. When you get tired of the buffet (and believe me you will!) there are a few a la carte restaurants. If you want to eat off the resort there is an excellent fondue restaurant down the street. There is nightly entertainment.

For the Kids:

• Newly renovated kid's club
• Playground for the kids with swings and a climbing structure.
• Organized activities such as mini golf competitions, dance lessons and pool games (though the prizes are usually bottles of rum even when the kids win!).
