Unveiling Grand Mercure Melbourne: A Family Oasis in 2024

We stayed in the Grand Mercure Melbourne, Flinders Lane Apartments on a recent family trip to Melbourne! We were very happy with this hotel apartment-in fact I wanted to move in it was so nice! The apartments have recently been refurbished and are stylish, sleek and have all the amenities you could want for!
Those who know me, know I like luxury and this was certainly in that category-rated 4.5 stars it was nicer than many of the 5 star hotels I have stayed in.
We stayed for four nights and enjoy the convenient location-you are literally one minute on foot to Flinders Street station. There are loads of restaurants and bakeries within 2 minutes of the hotel including the Cupcake Bakery and a great sushi restaurant!
From Flinders Street station there is a foot path to take you over the water to the other side so you can explore the other Melbourne attractions like Eureeka 88 and enjoy the wonderful Williamstown ferries!
What is a Hotel Apartment?
The apartments are just like a hotel but with a few different amenities.
Each room has its own kitchenette with a dishwasher (which doesn't make a peep!), fully crockery etc so it is easy to self cater instead of eating out every day. There is a bar offering light snacks in the evening but no other food, however there is a huge range literally outside the door and the hotel can even arrange dine-in from the near by eateries if you request it!
In the one bedroom apartments there is a large bedroom and then in the adjoining room the sofa turns into a pull out bed. The doors close in-between the rooms so it is really like having two separate bedrooms which makes it perfect when traveling with kids. The apartments are so spacious I wanted to move in!!
The bathroom is gorgeous with an amazing shower and all your usual hotel amenities-shampoos and soaps etc..
There are laundry facilities on the 7th floor which we put to use after 12 days of travel!
The rooms are cleaned every three days and linen replaced etc however if you need anything at all you can just call to the front desk and they will sent it up right away-the staff were so friendly and helpful- we were very impressed with the service!
The hotel also offers valet parking which is really convenient if you are renting a car while you are in Melbourne.

So overall, I was very happy with this choice for our stay in Melbourne! I have been busy recommending it to everyone-especially those traveling with kids-it is just perfect! One thing I do know is-we'll be back! Most impressed!
